Requirements for Entry
- Entrants must be an ISP or a company offering media streaming services to customers.
- Entrants will be given either a Windows Media or Real Media file that they will place on their media streaming servers. Entrants will be required to state the file type during the technical service registration process.
Overview of technical testing:
Epitiro will periodically stream the test video file in order to measure the availability and performance of the stream. Specific measurements made are as follows:
- Average stream bandwidth
- Stream connection
- Rebuffering time
- Failures
Value-Added Section:
In addition to technical testing, entrants to this category are required to submit a value-added form, which will be used to assist the judges in selecting the winner of the Award. The judging criteria and questions are available below. Please download the value-added form below and submit to awards@ispa.org.uk by 31st March 2009.

- Time from order to delivery
- Contract Options
- Packages Information
- Support offering and customer care
- Value Added Services
- Live and on-demand services
- Distribution capabilities
- Support for multicast
- Outside broadcast capabilities
- Technologies and codecs supported
Bearing in mind the judges criteria, entrants will be asked to answer the following questions using no more than 300 words per section
1. How does your streaming service offer value for money?
2. Outline the features that make your service technically robust?
3. What further characteristics distinguish your service from that of your competitors?
